Best Authority® Academic Edition
Best Authority automates the creation of a Table of Authorities for your legal brief. It works as an add-in to Microsoft Word (PC ONLY; NO MACs). Just follow these steps:

Step 1: Download the e-Learning Module to quickly learn how to build a TOA in an actual brief.

Step 2: Fill in the registration form. After clicking submit, you will receive an email to confirm your registration. Check your junk mail, you MUST click on the link in the email to get to the download page for the software.

Step 3: Install Best Authority on your PC. Open the Microsoft® Word document that needs a TOA, or a one of the sample briefs installed with Best Authority. Launch Best Authority from your Toolbar or the add-in section of the ribbon in Office 2007 and Office 2010 (32-bit version only).

Step 4: You must be online the first time you launch Best Authority, and periodically thereafter, to verify your membership in the LexisNexis® Law School Program. (more information)

IMPORTANT: Any user who downloaded and installed prior to 1/8/2010 will get an expired license message. You will need to go to step 2 to re-download the software, and then re-install it on your machine for the software to work.
