Best Authority assists the firm’s lawyers and Legal Administrative Assistants (LAAs) to generate and customize a Table of Authorities or “TOA” dramatically faster and more accurately than ever before.
Natalie Huha, Young Conaway’s Learning Services/User Support Manager, explains that prior to implementing Best Authority, the firm had been using Microsoft Word’s built-in citation marking tool, which was very problematic and time-consuming for their workflow. She says, “Using Word, our TOAs would take one hour minimum, usually two hours. Now with Best Authority, they can take fifteen minutes depending on the amount of citations. Also, Best Authority is incredibly accurate and consistent in picking up citations, even split ones, so all citations in the final TOA are correct and the resulting document is attractive and presentable. Our attorneys and staff love Best Authority.”
In addition, Ms. Huha also notes that the ability to customize Best Authority’s schemes is extremely valuable to her firm, since many of the firm’s lawyers have individual styles and personal habits for citation formats. “Best Authority can present and enforce the Harvard Blue Book version of citations, but also permits our lawyers to choose an alternate format according to their preference. Our lawyers really appreciate the ability to customize the software.”
