LEVIT & JAMES ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF BEST AUTHORITY 2.5
New Version of Table of Authorities Production Software
Includes Multiple User-Requested Features and Enhancements
February 2, 2009 – Leesburg, VA... At New York LegalTech 2009 on February 2nd-4th, Levit & James, Inc. will be demonstrating version 2.5 of Best Authority, an upgrade of the industry’s leading Table of Authorities (TOA) production software. In the 2 ½ years since its initial release, Best Authority has been selected by more than one-third of the 250 largest U.S. law firms.
Mr. Ken Pendergast, Best Authority product manager, commented that, “Version 2.5 incorporates a substantial reworking of the software code. The result is that we were able to enhance both the performance and ease-of-use of the product.” Best Authority 2.5 includes new functions for reviewing the TOA and the document, as well as additional formatting options.

Highlights of Best Authority 2.5 Enhancements
- Speed and reliability improvements for Review functions
- New review feature to display selected citations using color, instead of a dotted border
- New scheme option to include footnote/endnote notation with the TOA entry page number
- Word’s Track Changes feature can now be enabled while running Best Authority
- Best Authority now supports rotated displays for monitors operating in portrait mode
All Best Authority maintenance customers are entitled to upgrade to version 2.5 at no additional charge.
